By the end of 2023, RLI will no longer accept account current/agency bill for new business (renewal business is handled directly with the insured), meaning “submit signed application and payment to administrator” will no longer be an option for administrators.
This change will require payment authorization to be applied – either within the RLI e-signature process or by your office utilizing “signed app, pay now” to submit for binding to RLI. Please note that the “signed app, pay now” process requires your office (the administrator) to enter payment information. RLI cannot accept new business payments sent directly to us outside of the RLI system, and retail agents cannot enter payment authorization in the RLI system unless utilizing the RLI e-signature process.
Once agency bill is removed, RLI is unable to accomodate submissions that do not have payment authorization entered within the RLI system. All account current statements must be settled within a reasonable period of time as detailed in your producer contract. When account current is removed for administrators, the change will be seen as follows:
"Please submit the completed, signed and dated application along with full premium payment to your program administrator. Any delay in sending these items may result in an amended effective date as your program administrator is unable to process the submission to RLI without them."
IMPORTANT: RLI Cannot accept new business payments sent directly to us. If your office does not enter payment information, the “signed app, pay now” process should be removed, meaning all applications and payments must be submitted electronically within the RLI system (i.e., if this option is removed, paper applications cannot be accepted).
